Harbin...brrr, cold!

Hey everyone :)

Mike & I got back from Harbin on Tuesday morning...here's the story of our weekend, lol!:

We had a nice train ride (overnight, about 13 hours) to Harbin...and instantly froze when we left the station :) Different kind of cold than Beijing. We spent that first day seeing all the snow sculptures & ice creations...so beautiful & overwhelming. Even though I had been there before, I think I could go back many, many times & still be in awe of the whole thing! I took 184 pictures that first day :)

Our second day in Harbin was spent seeing what was left of the Japanese Experimental Germ Warfare Base, which had been turned into a museum/memorial. So sad to see what cruelty people can do to others, I'm so glad the good outnumber the bad in this world... :(

We spent the afternoon on our own, shopping & checking out the Russian shops on Central Avenue...then back on a train for home. It was a quick weekend getaway & now back to work, lol! Our next trip will be to Kunming (south! warmth!) at the end of January for a week.

Pictures from Harbin can be seen here & here :)
